Yeah, yeah … we know ….. It’s like we went into hibernation, right? Well it IS winter! That’s a good excuse, right? (Of course living in California, “winter” really doesn’t mean much!) We have just been busy working on a few projects …. one is a new blog … it’s slow going but we’re excited. The other is pretty cool but …. we’ll share more later. Check out this great wedding we shot in Laguna Hills at the Laguna Hills Community Center. This couple and their families were so sweet … both sides were musicians … so there was a lot of music involved! We loved that!! Oh yeah … Jeff and Cherylin were already related before they were married. (No … nothing weird like you were thinking!!) Jeff’s sister married Cherylin’s brother last year. So it was really one big happy family!

Surprise! Surprise!
This is Little C. (Yes, I did try to convince her parents to name her Mae but … yet again …. another couple unwilling to give in to the whims of the photographer. Sheesh!!) Anyway, this little girl surprised her family when she decided to arrive just as her dad got home to take mom to the hospital! So dear ole dad had to catch her as she slid on out. Surprise! Good thing dad knew what to do. I’m so glad my kids didn’t surprise us this way!! These pictures were taken after her arrival at the hospital via ambulance. Isn’t she cute?!!

Isn’t that sweet?! That’s the attitude I picked up from Damon as he married his fiance, Brittany. They were married at a place called Swiss Park in Whittier. Here are some of my favorites.

I just watched Princess Bride again. Love that movie!! I don’t think I can ever get tired of watching that one. Okay … I’ve been really lagging on my blog lately. So much to do and so little time! Then the kids got me hooked on their electronic Sudoku! (aka Nintendo DS!) Like I need something else to do!!
Enough about my insanity. Let’s move on …. here are some engagement shots from Damon and Brittany. They are actually already married! They came in two months before their wedding so we did the engagement session and wedding pretty close to each other. When these two said they wanted to get in the water for engagement shots … we knew we had a fun couple to work with!

It’s amazing that after all these years we get along so well and even choose to work together!

The Consequence of Our Words

Have you ever tried to teach your kids lessons using quotes? We try. We make them memorize quotes and we “throw” those quotes at them as needed. Oh they sooooo dread that! Of course it doesn’t always mean they’ll “get it.” But it’s worth a try.
I heard this one a few years ago from a mom. (That mom cracked me up all day with her quotes!)
Whatever you say, whatever you do. Bounces off others and comes back to you.
I loved that one and I used it a lot with my kids. I’d start with, “Whatever you say …. ” and they’ll finish off the rest with their most UNenthusiastic, monotone, dry tone. No matter … as long as they were getting it. The other day my five year old punched his sister. He said that she wasn’t being nice and nothing was bouncing off and coming back to her … so he thought he’d take care of it. Hmmmm… maybe they don’t get it?
Okay .. back to work …. we did a portrait session with these great children. Now these siblings got along really well. The youngest, a six year old boy, was quite the clown.



Backyard Wedding

I think I spend way too much time with our UPS and FedEx delivery folk.
We did a wedding recently in the backyard of a residence. Tod and Rowena did such a beautiful job of fixing up the yard and working on the little details. It was gorgeous! The wedding party was a lot of fun to work with too! Rowena is the sister of one of our previous brides, Eileen. It was fun to see Dan and Eileen. Actually, we saw them two weeks in a row! Dan’s bestman was married the week before. We were getting used to seeing their faces at weddings … we were looking for them at the next wedding we did. But … alas … it was not to be.





Perfect Day to Be in Newport Beach
Khang and Karine were married on yacht in Newport Beach recently. It was the Crystal at Electra Cruises and what a nice big yacht that was. It was a really warm day but being on the yacht … wow ….. it was a great day to be out over the water in Newport Beach. Khang was the bestman at Dan and Eileen’s wedding, which we did last year. So it was nice to see Dan and Eileen as well. We actually get to see them again next week when Eileen’s sister gets married.

They had two cakes. One was a SpongeBob cake! Too cute.





La Jolla Wedding
Byron and JoDee had a beautiful ceremony on the cliffs in La Jolla. The fact that red was her color sure made it even better for me!!! Yay Red! The ceremony was at Calumet Park and the reception at Maranatha in Rancho Bernardo. Byron’s dad performed part of the ceremony too … that was really sweet.
