I Love Lists

Many of my friends make fun of me because I like lists. One of my friends actually gave me a book of lists for my birthday a while back. Hmmm… I think I’ve misplaced that book. Better find it. I’ll put that on my list.

Anyway, with a business, a family and a home to take care of … I must have my lists of things to do, places to go, things to buy, books to read, people to call. Keeps me sane (Well, relatively sane. My friends might have issues with my claims of sanity. 🙂 ) But seriously, doesn’t it feel so good to be able to check off things on your list as “done” and then be able to move forward. (See, simple things please me. 🙂 )

So today I’m sharing something really different. I’m sharing a really cool application that I use. Well, I try to use it. I’ve actually told myself that I’m going to REALLY use it regularly now. And since it has a lite version for my iPhone, I can take it with me! Yay! It’s called gubb.net and yes, I know it doesn’t sound “pretty,” but it is!! It’s so, so, so Apple-ish! It’s not an Apple application but it’s Apple-ish … you Apple fiends get what I mean. Okay … back to our regularly scheduled programming. 🙂 Have an ah-MAE-zing day!

I Love Being Married …

I love being married. It’s so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life. ~Rita Rudner

So glad I found Michael to annoy … so much fun. But wait … then … that means he found me …. hmmm. 🙂

Aren’t Erik and Ronna adorable? They got married at Kindred Community Church in Anaheim. They’re football fans and even though they don’t like the Chargers or Patriots …. we were still nice to them. Our friend Holly helped out on this wedding. Holly and her 50 f1.2 lens that is. 🙂

Men Never Know …

Men never know how tired they are till their wives sit them down for a nice long talk. ~Mignon McLaughlin, The Neurotic’s Notebook, 1960

Love that!!

Here’s a recent wedding at the Ponte Winery in Temecula. Michael and Morgan were married on a beautiful day. Morgan was such a calm bride! (Although she said she wasn’t, but she SURE looked like it! ) Our good friend Donny came to shoot with me that day. We had a great time!

Jeff and Jackie

We had never photographed a wedding at Cal State Long Beach’s Japanese Gardens so we were excited about this wedding. It was a great day albeit HOT. But no one really seemed to mind. Jeff and Jackie were married at Earl Burn’s Japanese Gardens and then we went to the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse at the Navy Golf Course in Cypress. There was a lot of music and dancing too. They had an all girl Mariachi band – the Mariachi Divas – playing and then they also had Station Identification as their DJ’s. Everyone was so happy for Jeff and Jackie … mixed in with all the fun and music, there were tears of joy all around.

It was great seeing some previous clients too! We shot Eric and Erica’s wedding a couple of years back.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Kua and Ella were married at the Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook.  They were such great sports about the heat, even though it was 95 degrees that day.  Their families had such a great time too.  Someone who worked at the Pala Mesa Resort said they hadn’t seen so many women having so much crazy fun on the dance floor in a long time.  🙂   Cute.

It’s Midnight …

It’s midnight … tic … tic .. tic … what are you doing?  Having a wedding?!!  🙂  Well, Frank and Tammy did just that.  They had a midnight wedding in Murrieta.  Tammy got ready at South Coast Winery in Temecula then we went to their home in Murrieta.

Parenting Laws

10 Parenting Laws

1. The later you stay up, the earlier your child will be up the next morning.
2. For a child to become clean, something else must become dirty.
3. Toys multiply to fill any space available.
4. The longer it takes to make a meal, the less your child will like it.
5. Yours is always the only child who doesn’t behave.
6. If the shoe fits…it’s expensive.
7. The surest way to get something done is to tell a child not to do it.
8. The gooier the food, the more likely it is to end up on the carpet.
9. Backing the car out of the garage causes your child to have to go to the bathroom.
10. The more challenging the child, the more rewarding it is to be a parent…sometimes.

I find such humor in parenting. I think you really HAVE to be able to laugh when you are a parent. And I don’t mean just laughing at our kids but … at yourself! I love these Ten Parenting Laws …. so true.

We had fun doing this portrait session with the “R” family. They have three young children. Good kids with a lot of energy. Kids always have a lot of energy … gotta get some of that stuff.

We’ve Been Busy

Okay … so the reason we’ve been so bad about our blog is that we’re growing!!  (No!  I’m not pregnant!!!  🙂  Bite your tongue!!)   No no … we are growing and so we are relocating ………. and we’ve been working on fixing up the space.  We’ll keep you updated.  It’s so exciting!!         (Yeah, yeah … weak excuse … but it looks good on print, doesn’t it?!)

But look!  Another engagement session!  We had so much fun with Kua and Ella, in spite of having to walk all over the place.   🙂  These guys are getting married at Pala Mesa Resort out in Fallbrook.  Very cool place.

(BTW .. My blog features have changed and I’m not sure how to change the size of images now.  Forgive me if the pictures are sized oddly.)

E-session

Engagement sessions are so much fun. It’s so much fun to get to know a people by telling them what to do.  It’s like parenting! 🙂   🙂  Jeff and Jackie were so relaxed and easy to photograph.  They are getting married at the Japanese Gardens at Cal State Long Beach and then at off to the Navy Golf Course for the reception. jj-32.jpgjj-19.jpgjj-3.jpgjj-4.jpg jj-78.jpg

WPPI

Well, we got back from the photo convention of all photo conventions … the big kahuna … WPPI – Wedding and Portrait Photographers International.  This is the reason for our yearly trek to Las Vegas.  As usual we loved seeing all the latest and greatest products in the photography world.  It really had us excited about providing some great stuff for our clients!  And of course we learned from some of the greatest photographers out there and got to hang with friends that we don’t get to see too often.  The photographer at WPPI are from all over the United States and all over the world – so we obviously don’t get to hang out too often.  It was a fun time catching up with everyone and the parties were plentiful!  Do I have any pictures from Vegas?  I was hoping you wouldn’t ask …. I think I was too busy eating.  I LOVE eating in Vegas!  There is so much great stuff to eat!!  Crepes on the walkway between Bally’s and Paris, steak and salmon at Mon Ami Gabi, sushi at Kaizen (and a sake lesson thanks to our friend David!), Ahi Tuna at the Westin, and oh….. so much more!!!!!  I miss all that food.  I had a chicken nugget today — weee (sarcastic tone)…. did I mention that the nugget was cold?!          (i want a crepe …)
